Ingenico i3380 PIN Pad terminals at IKEA self-service check-out

by swmerchant 31. August 2009 04:24
IKEA finished the rollout of self-checkout systems according to plan with the beginning of summer and already obtained very positive results in the introduction phase. At these self-checkout systems customers scan their goods themselves and pay by card. This “queue busting” offer is particularly addressed to customers, who buy only a few goods and want to avoid waiting periods.

At the self-checkout systems the terminal Ingenico i3380 is used, which is connected with the overall system by the TCP/IP network. This terminal is designed by Ingenico for multi-lane retail and enables very fast transaction times. Further characteristics are the comfortable hybrid card reader and the ergonomic PIN-shroud. It offers the upmost level of security, meeting the most demanding requirements for payment transactions (PCI PED, ZKA, Interpay…). The i3380 is already installed at all served check-outs and proven effective for months. The applied payment schemes are “electronic cash” direct debit, the IKEA card as well as credit cards. Ingenico and Ryanair develop world’s first Chip and Pin self service airport kiosks

by swmerchant 31. July 2009 04:03
Ingenico and Ryanair will initially install the chip and pin payment system in all its London (Stansted) based kiosks and roll out the development across its Barcelona (Girona), Belfast, Frankfurt (Hahn) and Marseille bases. As part of a three‐year contract with Ryanair, Ingenico has provided a complete transaction management system for the inital rollout of 250 unmanned kiosks, with plans to grow to 450 kiosks. It comprises the AXIS electronic payment system, centralised hosting of the transaction
management system and PIN pads. The solution enables the kiosks to be fully compatible with PCI‐DSS guidelines, as well as those set by Visa and Mastercard for secure payments. This ensures that passengers can pay for any optional services whilst checking in, negating the need to go to the ticket desk.

“Ingenico’s unique partnership with Ryanair demonstrates Ingenico’s commitment to being at the forefront of innovation and the technological advances in the sector,” saidPhilippe Lazare, CEO, Ingenico. “We continue to expand our international footprint, and are dedicated to ensuring that customers and retailers have access to the highest levels of convenience, security and simplicity in their transactions.” Read More

Payment cards: useful tips from Ingenico to help you enjoy your holiday with total peace of mind

by swmerchant 8. July 2009 09:01

5 key tips from Ingenico

1. Before setting off

Tip no.1 - Check these 4 key aspects with your bank, or on your contract:
  • The expiry date of your card. It would be a shame if your card expired during your holidays and you were unable to use it;
  • The weekly spending ceiling (withdrawals and payments) to avoid finding your spending limited at your holiday location. Please note that you can have this ceiling readjusted, (even from a faraway location), to cover this period;
  • The expiry date of the secret code: the bank must inform you of this by post one month before any change takes place;
  • The acceptance of international payment cards in the country you are visiting, as well as the existence of automatic teller machines (ATMs).

Tip no.2 - Be sure to take the assistance hotline number with you for your payment card, your bank and/or your interbank number: for France, you can call 0892 705 705, with this number available 24 hours a day. For abroad, you should use the number supplied to you by your bank according to the country you intend to visit. This will enable you to manage any possible loss or theft of your card as quickly and as effectively as possible. Read More
