5 key tips from Ingenico
1. Before setting off
Tip no.1 - Check these 4 key aspects with your bank, or on your contract:
- The expiry date of your card. It would be a shame if your card expired during your holidays and you were unable to use it;
- The weekly spending ceiling (withdrawals and payments) to avoid finding your spending limited at your holiday location. Please note that you can have this ceiling readjusted, (even from a faraway location), to cover this period;
- The expiry date of the secret code: the bank must inform you of this by post one month before any change takes place;
- The acceptance of international payment cards in the country you are visiting, as well as the existence of automatic teller machines (ATMs).
Tip no.2 - Be sure to take the assistance hotline number with you for your payment card, your bank and/or your interbank number: for France, you can call 0892 705 705, with this number available 24 hours a day. For abroad, you should use the number supplied to you by your bank according to the country you intend to visit.
This will enable you to manage any possible loss or theft of your card as quickly and as effectively as possible. Read More
